Chairman – Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement & Spine Surgery
MBBS · MS (Ortho) · FRSH (UK) · FIAO (USA)
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Verma is one of India's most experienced joint replacement surgeons, with over 29 years of clinical practice spanning complex trauma, primary and revision joint replacement, and advanced robotic surgery. He currently serves as Chairman of Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement & Spine Surgery at Shalby International Hospital, Golf Course Road, Gurgaon.
His career has been defined by a singular focus on joints. From his early years at PGIMS Rohtak and LHMC/RML Hospital, New Delhi, through senior consultant roles at Paras Hospital, Apollo Clinic, Columbia Asia, and Umkal Hospitals — and then as Director at Artemis Hospitals and Narayana Superspeciality Hospital — Dr. Verma has built one of the most extensive joint replacement portfolios in the country. He was Director & Head of Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement & Spine Surgery at Marengo Asia Hospital, Gurgaon, before taking on his current Chairman role at Shalby International in January 2025.
Dr. Verma is a pioneer in robotic-assisted joint replacement in India, incorporating state-of-the-art robotic technology to deliver sub-millimetre precision in every procedure. His signature framework — the Function First Knee™ Philosophy — reflects his core belief that the goal of surgery is not simply to replace a joint, but to restore the patient's ability to live fully: to walk naturally, climb stairs confidently, travel, pray, and forget they ever had surgery.
Holding fellowships from the Royal Society of Health, UK (FRSH) and the International Academy of Orthopaedics, USA (FIAO), Dr. Verma is actively involved in advancing orthopaedic knowledge globally. He has trained with leading centres in the UK, USA, South Korea, Australia, Germany, and France, and continues to mentor the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons across India.
